Members who qualify may be eligible for:

Extra Help with Medicare prescription drug costs

Extra Help with prescription drug costs through the Medicare Savings Program helps people with limited income and resources pay copayments, coinsurance and deductibles for Medicare Part D prescription drug costs. You may qualify for Extra Help or a Low Income Subsidy (LIS) if your yearly income and resources are below certain limits.

Medicare Part B premium return

Beneficiaries with incomes and assets below certain levels may qualify for a Medicare Savings Program (MSPs) and receive a Medicare Part B premium return. MSPs are also known as dual eligible programs.

Food assistance through the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (Food Stamp Program)

The Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) is administered through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. SNAP provides electronic benefits issued in the form of a plastic card similar to a bank debit card. These electronic benefit cards can be used like cash at most grocery stores.

Households can use SNAP benefits to buy food for the household such as bread and cereal, fruits and vegetables, meat, fish, poultry, dairy products and seeds or plants which produce food. Households cannot use SNAP benefits to buy beer, wine, liquor, cigarettes, non-food items, vitamins or medicines.
